Celebrate National Poetry Month With Us!
Join us for another late night of Barstool Poetry fun. This one should be interesting. We’re doing it in the dimly lit red room across from the main bar at MugShots – located in a cool old building that used to be, among other things, a brothel in the 1800s.
So come on out and channel some of that little Texas whorehouse mojo with some poetry on a cocktail napkin!
You know the drill: My title. Your poem. Your title. My poem.
We’ll have our 3 big bowls set up for you to:
–contribute a title or pull a title to go off and write your poem (Bowl #1)
–contribute your completed poem or read someone else’s (Bowl #2)
–contribute poems you read and loved (Bowl #3)
Every hour we – as in you, me and all our frieeeends – will get on the mic to read the best of the best. Like karaoke with poems we all just slapped together.
Drunken collaboration!
We’ll also have copies of our book Barstool Poetry (The Early Years: 1992-2000) available, as well as copies of the books we’ve produced from our previous Barstool Poetry events at Star Bar, Violet Crown Social Club and Gourmands.
And if you can’t make it, the least you can do is contribute a poem title in the comments section below. We’ll make sure it gets written on a cocktail napkin and added to the mix.
Cheers!

Thanks, Heidi! We’ll let you know what kind of poem your title inspires Saturday night. Hope you’re well.
