On Saturday night it will be a year and a day since our 1st Barstool Poetry night.

That one was on West 6th Street. At Star Bar.

This one is on East 6th Street. At the Violet Crown Social Club.

In that year and a day we’ve collected over 300 barstool poems. With any luck Saturday night, we’ll collect another 50 to 100.

Then I’ll go home. Read through everything we’ve collected. (Including the 300 I’ve already got.) Then we’ll choose the 200 napkins worthy of inclusion in Barstool Poetry (The Best of Austin: 2013) –– which will be edited, published and printed just in time to buy your holiday copies for the office gift exchange!

If you’re in town, come out and join us.

Poetry writing not required.

You will, however, be asked to contribute at least one title.
